Technology is the biggest certainty in the next 10 years, driving profound changes in the industrial and consumer side

In Zhou Bowen’s view, there are still many uncertainties and opportunities in the next 10 years.

Standing at the time node of 2020 and looking forward to 2030, Zhou Bowen believes that there will be two certainty in the future: one is that technology will continue to develop and iterate; Second, the sustainable development of enterprises.

But if these two certainties are combined, Zhou predicted that by 2030, all enterprises will become technology enterprises. The digital transformation of industry represented by artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, Internet of things and other technologies is not only our biggest certainty at present, but also our biggest opportunity in the next 10 years.

From the perspective of industrial chain, in the next 10 years, the distribution pattern of raw materials in the industrial chain will be more diversified, manufacturing will be more decentralized and flexible, brand differentiation and fine-grained, distribution and retail will be more flat, and consumption demand will be more decentralized and personalized.

To cope with these changes and challenges, the core is to use artificial intelligence, 5g, IOT and other technologies to connect everything, and through the intelligent cooperation of the industrial chain between digital technologies. From the perspective of consumption, this kind of complex supply chain will be able to better satisfy everyone to obtain the personalized products they want, so as to achieve the self realization of the highest demand of Maslow’s theory. In Zhou Bowen’s view, this is also the biggest opportunity for the industry chain to face consumers in the next 10 years.

Technological progress is the underlying driving force of industrial change. Industrial change and technological progress are driven by each other. On the one hand, from the traditional manufacturing, retail, finance to the information industry, technological progress will bring new industries. On the other hand, industrial demand will force technological progress.

Under the continuous interaction of demand and supply, the industrial chain will also form a super supply chain network.

At present, the way to realize the super supply chain network is to build a technology driven digital intelligent social supply chain.

In Zhou Bowen’s view, the evolution of supply chain will go through four stages: stage 1.0 is to promote the collaboration of upstream and downstream supply chains through planned production mode; Stage 2.0 is to use digital technology and Internet technology to build cloud supply chain and realize network connection; Stage 3.0 is based on artificial intelligence and big data technology, changing the traditional demand driven demand creation, realizing the connection and intelligent upgrading of the whole supply chain; 4.0 digital intelligence social supply chain stage is to reshape the end-to-end value chain with digital intelligence technology as the core, realize the socialized connection of all elements, so as to build a highly collaborative, reliable, sensitive and flexible digital intelligence social supply chain network.

In Zhou Bowen’s view, it may take 10 years to build a 4.0 digital social supply chain, and Jingdong invites everyone to participate in this process to continuously improve the ability of the enterprise’s digital social supply chain.

Jingdong is able to shoulder the mission because it has its own unique advantages in the process of building a digital society supply chain. Zhou Bowen pointed out that Jingdong is an enterprise with dual attributes of entity and Internet. It connects both supply and demand at the same time, and can have in-depth insight into the highlights and pain points of the industry. On the one hand, Jingdong has built a top-level supply chain management capability in the management of production, marketing, inventory and warehouse allocation. On the other hand, as a leading Internet platform enterprise, Jingdong has accumulated advanced technology and advanced ecological operation experience.

Thanks to this, JD’s c2m system, the first in the world, cooperates with top domestic electrical manufacturers to launch the world’s first fully automated and intelligent c2m reverse customized refrigerator in early 618. Based on the open platform of JD’s intelligent supply chain, product reviews and other public desensitization data, it analyzes and forecasts the market trend and consumer demand, It can automatically customize the popular products to meet the personalized needs of consumers. The launch cycle of this new refrigerator is shortened by more than 83%, which greatly saves various costs. Thus, it can not only ensure the quality of the products, but also reduce the price, so that consumers can enjoy real benefits.

At the same time, Jingdong is also thinking about how to expand the c2m capability to the whole process of production, warehousing and distribution, after-sales service, etc. For example, at present, a large number of necessary links of quality testing still rely heavily on manual testing, which not only affects people’s vision for a long time, but also easily leads to physical injury and mobility of employees, and increases the cost of human training. In this regard, Jingdong c2m guides the precise control of the mechanical arm by using the technology of human eye bionic optical imaging and machine vision, and quickly classifies and identifies the complex defects of components, so as to continuously optimize and improve the quality inspection efficiency in the production process.

In his view, the future of digital society is the future shared by all. Standing at the present time node, it takes two oars to get from today’s shore to tomorrow’s shore.

The first oar needs to be jointly created by ecology and partners, constantly mentioning the efficiency of x-axis ot (operational technology). Relying on its own supply chain advantages, Jingdong will work with ecological partners to connect the two ends of the consumer Internet and industrial Internet, reduce social costs and improve social efficiency.

By opening up artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, Internet of things and our cutting-edge exploration technologies, JD will provide a unified cloud base, technology platform, data intelligence platform, and collaborative management platform, so that JD’s ecological partners can realize value release in mutual collaboration, achieve ecological win-win and co creation, and achieve long-term sustainable ecological growth.

The second oar is back to technology. Zhou Bowen believes that in the past 50 years, our science and technology came from three basic architectures: compatibility theory, von Neumann’s classical computing architecture and Moore’s law. But today, 50 years later, these three laws are difficult to break through the limits of physics. Therefore, facing the future, we need to constantly expand and invest in technology, constantly explore more cutting-edge technology, and strive for more efficient and sustainable practice.

Zhou Bowen said that JD will accelerate the exploration of new technologies in the next decade, including artificial intelligence, blockchain, Internet of things, autonomous systems and next-generation computing. Zhou Bowen announced that the Jingdong exploration and Research Institute was established today, which will focus on artificial intelligence, quantum computing, data science engineering and management, decentralized computing, technology ethics and ethics, and science and art. In the next three years, Jingdong Exploration Research Institute will introduce at least three top scientists in each field, and encourage young scientists to join.
