IaaS giants are doing PaaS. Alibaba Cloud’s DingTalk and industrial intelligence OpenTrek include a complete set of operating system, development tools, business analysis and other PaaS platform capabilities; Tencent Cloud also pointed out in its 2021 financial report that Tencent’s to B business actively adjusts its revenue structure and will be in the video cloud Increase resource investment in PaaS fields such as network security and network security.
SaaS companies are also doing PaaS. Whether it is foreign SaaS giants such as Salesforce and Workday, or domestic SaaS companies in various fields such as Beisen, Salesyi, Shangyue, etc., they are all making efforts on PaaS platforms.
The “Cloud Computing White Paper 2021” released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology shows that since 2018, in China’s public cloud market, the growth rate of PaaS has surpassed that of IaaS and SaaS, becoming the fastest growing segment.

UFIDA PaaS is not born out of nowhere
In order to better understand the positioning of iuap in UFIDA’s product system, it is necessary to understand UFIDA’s cloud transformation history.
Established 34 years ago, UFIDA has experienced three strategic development stages:

UFIDA officially launched iuap to the market in 2014, but in fact this kind of platform thinking UFIDA has been practicing since the ERP era, which can be regarded as the predecessor of iuap.

A “bigger capability, faster upgrade” PaaS
Looking at the entire cloud computing market, although UFIDA has deployed PaaS earlier, it does not specialize in this area. Both IaaS vendors and SaaS vendors are also launching their own PaaS platforms. In the PaaS market where there are many opinions, how does Yonyou iuap, as the “digital intelligence base” of Yonyou BIP 3, define its own ecological niche? In this regard, Liu Jian said that “it is not the same category”.
First of all, domestic SaaS manufacturers are mostly start-up companies, usually cutting into a certain subdivision field and making in-depth refinement. The PaaS platform they launch therefore also has corresponding vertical attributes. For example, DingTalk belongs to collaborative PaaS, and Beisen belongs to human PaaS. , Fenxiang Sales belongs to Sales PaaS, Shangyue belongs to Purchase PaaS and so on.
In contrast, Yonyou BIP 3 is based on iuap’s platform-based technical capabilities, covering core areas such as finance, human resources, supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, marketing, R&D, projects, assets and collaboration, and is a comprehensive cloud service platform .
It is worth mentioning that last year, low-code platforms exploded in the industry, and the YonBuilder low-code platform in iuap is such a tool. Liu Jian said that YonBuilder has two positionings, one is professional development, which provides engineering management tools; the other is rapid development (democratic development) tools, which provide low-code and no-code capabilities. In order to quickly improve the capabilities of the YonBuilder platform, Yonyou acquired the low-code company APICloud for 150 million yuan last year.
Secondly, the PaaS platforms of different companies have different complexity and target user groups. “Jiazi Guangnian” divided PaaS into four layers according to the complexity in the article in 2019. The fourth layer at the top of the pyramid can be opened to ISVs for SaaS product development, the third layer can be developed by customers and integrators, and the fourth layer The second layer can only be developed by internal developers of SaaS vendors, while the first layer only opens some API interfaces and highly configurable features (such as custom objects, BI reports, BPM process engines, and a large number of configuration parameters, etc.).
The ability of UFIDA iuap is already in the fourth layer. In contrast, the PaaS platforms launched by most domestic SaaS manufacturers still stay at the third or second layer. Compared with the PaaS launched by IaaS manufacturers, UFIDA iuap is positioned as a “cloud platform” and is a neutral PaaS.
In June 2021, iuap completed a new round of upgrade and optimization, starting from the infrastructure level, and carried out a comprehensive product upgrade and micro-service transformation. After the upgrade, the bottom layer of the iuap technology platform has realized multi-cloud adaptation. The cloud vendors currently supported include Huawei Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud, Amazon AWS and self-built IDCs.

In the past, software upgrades in the ERP era were very slow, and even a set of architectures could be used for more than ten years. With the rise of the Internet, enterprise software development pursues rapid iteration, but the complexity of technology and enterprise multi-cloud management make enterprise-level software upgrades more difficult than in the past.
Liu Jian told “Jiazi Guangnian”: “As a cloud platform, iuap needs to connect downwards to several major cloud vendors, hundreds of databases in China, and even the public cloud and private cloud of the same cloud vendor are completely different versions. “
How does UFIDA iuap solve it?
