Win10 Mobile 15254.489 Update Patch: Repairing a large number of Bugs (with downloads)


June 13: On Tuesday Update Patch Day, Microsoft pushed 1709 cumulative updates for the Windows 10 Mobile platform. According to convention, Windows 10 Mobile 15254.489 did not bring any new features, but surprisingly, it repaired a large number of Bugs.

This Windows 10 Mobile Build 15254.489 update is a 2008-06 patch update. It is suitable for Windows 10 version 1709 update of ARM-based Phone device, in which the download package size is 774.45MB.

It solves the mobile device-only problem that enterprise files can be saved as personal files even when Windows information protection strategy is enabled on the device.

When switching from user context to kernel context, it supports controlling the use of indirect branch prediction barrier (IBPB) on some AMD processors (CPUs) to alleviate CVE-2017-5715, Spectre Variant 2. Provides protection for other subclasses of speculative execution side channel vulnerabilities for speculative storage bypass (CVE-2018-3639). These protections are not enabled by default. In addition to the mitigation measures issued for Specter Variant 2 (CVE-2017-5715) and Meltdown (CVE-2017-5754), this guidance document can also be used to enable mitigation measures for Speculative Store Bypass (CVE-2018-3639).

Solve the problem that firmware updates cause devices to enter BitLocker recovery mode when BitLocker is enabled, but disable or no security boot exists. This update prevents firmware installation on devices in this state.

Administrators can install firmware in the following ways:

1. Suspend BitLocker.

2. Install firmware updates immediately before the next operating system boots.

3. Restart the device immediately so that BitLocker does not remain suspended.

Solve the problem that the boot of Unified Write Filter (UWF) may cause the error 0xE1 in embedded devices to stop, especially when using USB hub.

Increase the Internet Explorer Cookie limit to more than 50 to better meet industry standards.
