What are the functions of command key in MAC system

The command key of MAC and apple computer is next to the space. I believe you will use it very often. However, do you know what other functions the command key has? Here’s the developer editor to share with you five very useful command functions, which can greatly improve your work efficiency.

Command key has five hidden functions:

  1. Through Command + option + “click”, the project on the sidebar of finder can be opened in a new window.

After clicking command, click any item on the sidebar of finder to open it in the new finder window. This can be applied to any sidebar item, including collections, sharing, and devices. Applicable scenario: when we want to copy or move files between two windows, this function is very practical, as shown in the following figure:

  2. Command + “mouse drag” can move the rear window without affecting the front window

Want to view the window in the background, but don’t want to lose control of the front window? You can do it by command + drag. But if you want to move the back window and eliminate other windows except the back window, you can try Command + drag and drop + option.

  3. Command + “click the icon on the dock” to open the location of the application in the finder

When we want to know where the application on the dock is stored in the OS X file system, we just need to click command + to see if it is very convenient. This function is not limited to applications, as long as the content on OS X dock is OK, including documents, folders, etc.

4、Command + ENTERThe search results in spotlight can be viewed directly in finder

Just like the dock operation, when using spotlight search, you can open the location of the file in the search results by just command + enter. Enter directly to open the file. Notice when we can use control + space bar to call out spotlight.

 5. Use the command key to select multiple

When users want to select multiple files that are not adjacent to each other, they can do so by pressing and holding command and then clicking. This one is very practical, as we all know.

If you can master all the command skills in these five days, I believe you are the MAC master.
