Installing the Adobe Flash Plug-in for FreeBSD


Refer to the official FreeBSD manual browser chapter.

  1. pkg install nspluginwrapper
    nspluginwrapperIs a tool to assist in the installation and configuration of Netscape plugin.
    You can install plug-ins built on other systems for netscape family browsers, such as Flash plugin compiled on Linux.
  2. Install via portslinux-f10-flashplugin11。 F10 represents Fedora 10.
    cd /usr/ports/www/linux-f10-flashplugin11
    sudo make install
    sudo make clean
  3. Install Flash pluginnspluginwrapper -v -a -i, – V for output details, – A for auto probe available plug-ins, – I for installation.
    This will bringflash-player-plugin.soInstall to~/.mozilla/pluginsUnder the directory.
    If you update the plug-in of flash player in the future, execute it oncenspluginwrapper -v -a -u, – U means update.
  4. Test whether the installation is successful: enter in the Firefox address fieldabout:plugins, enter. You will see that the flash player is in the plug-in list and enabled.
  5. If the plug-in cannot be activated, the Linux module should not be loaded,sudo kldload linux
    If you want the system to power on and automatically load the Linux module, edit/etc/rc.confJoin inlinux_enable="YES"
