In our general program, adding certain icon display for general interface elements helps to improve the overall beauty of the interface. Combined with the layout and fixed scene icons, it often gives users a very good intuitive feeling: unified, beautiful and easy to understand. Therefore, in the general program interface, try to add some icons for embellishment in the slightly monotonous interface, which can achieve a better overall effect. This paper introduces that in WinForm program interface, you can use your own icon library, or you can introduce the built-in icon in deveexpress program to polish the developed program.

1、 Use library’s own icon

Whether in the web or in the WinForm project, developers accumulate a certain icon library, including large icons such as 256128 and 64 pixels, or conventional icons of 32 and 16 pixels. Sometimes, they can choose icons that conform to the theme and scene to add more beautiful elements to the development process.

However, even if you don’t have enough storage, it doesn’t matter. You can search for some icons that meet the requirements through the website. There are many free icons on the website that can be downloaded, such as the following websites:

You can always find the icon of the theme you need.

For example, the following is the main interface style of the program in my WinForm development framework, which uses a lot of its own icons.

2、 Using the built-in Icon Library of devexpress

In some conventional interfaces, such as the buttons in the editing interface and the query interface, I prefer to use the built-in deveexpress icon, so that the program looks more unified. For example, in the base class form of interface design, the application effect of the icon is shown below.

Adding an icon is very simple. Click the small icon in the upper right corner of the button to enter the editing interface, as shown below.

Then select the image button to enter the icon selection interface, and select the built-in devoexpress icon library. Basically, as long as it is the native control of deveexpress, you can select the icon through this built-in icon dialog box, which is very convenient.

Large icon selection 3232, small icon can be selected 1616.

In this way, we can select the same icon to form a more standard icon when designing some regular list interface operation buttons.

The above is the chart design of the WinForm interface in my WinForm development framework and hybrid development framework. Of course, some icons can be used in many interfaces, such as tree list, right-click menu, toolbar, etc., to make the interface more beautiful and easy to understand.
