Git detailed installation tutorial and solution to slow download

Step 1: double click git-2.21.0-64 after downloading- bit.exe , start installation

Installation begins

Step 2: select the installation path and click [next]

Step 3: select the component in the window and add the last to last component: use TrueType font in all command lines and click [next]

Step 4: select the default editor. I use vscade as the editor every day. Check visual studio code as git’s default editor and click [next]

Step 5: [create folder] interface, default options, click [next]

Step 6: in the [modify system environment variables] interface, I check the second option and click [next]

Option 1, the system environment variables will not be modified, but git command cannot be used in the windows system CMD command line

Option 2, GIT related programs will be added to the system environment variables, so that git command can be used in the windows system CMD command line

Option 3, GIT related programs and some other UNIX tools will be added to the system environment variables, so that GIT and UNIX tools can be used in the CMD command line of windows system. Note that this will override windows tools such as “find and sort.”. Use this option only if you understand its meaning.

Step 7: select the SSH executable file, select the open source code, and click [next]

Step 8: select the HTTPS transport backend, use the OpenSSL library, and click [next]

Step 9: end the conversion in the configuration line, select the first configuration by default, and click [next]

Option 1: git can automatically convert line breaks in files; when checking out to the local, it will be converted to line breaks under windows, and when it is submitted to the server, it will be converted to line breaks under UNIX

Option 2: git does not convert when checking out to the local, and retains the newline character of the original file; when it is submitted to the server, it is converted to the newline character under UNIX

Option 3, let git do no conversion when checking out to the local and submitting to the server

Configure line end conversion

Step 10: configure the terminal simulator for use with git bash. Select the first configuration by default, and click [next]

Option one, GIT bash will use mintty as a terminal emulator with resizable windows, non rectangular selections, and Unicode Fonts

Option 2: the option uses the windows system CMD command line as the GIT command line

Step 11: configure additional options. The default configuration is OK. Click [install]

Option 1: enable file system caching

Option 3: enable symbolic link
