According to Appleinsider, this week the U.S. trademark and Patent Office (USPTO) announced a new Apple patent. The patent, called the message user interface for messaging applications, includes editing sent messages, improving the application launcher, and many other new features. It is reported that the new patent is expected to be introduced into the upcoming IOS 14 update.
According to the Patent Description, the new features include easy confirmation of messages, display of private messages, synchronous viewing of content between users, translation of foreign text, way of merging messages into groups, etc. The patent also improves the current functions, including chat bubbles, full screen effects and apple pay transfer.
One of the most noteworthy new features in this patent is the full text editing function of the sent message. Just press and hold a message to see the option to edit the sent message in the operations menu. The user can then correct the content, or even change it completely. To avoid misunderstanding, the edited message will show that it has been edited, and the recipient can also see the content before it is edited.
